Seasoned vs Kiln Dried…?

At Big Tree Logs, we understand the importance of making environmentally conscious decisions, particularly when it comes to the products we offer. Our firewood undergoes air-drying (seasoning) for a minimum of six months, and in many cases, even longer. This method of seasoning generates no carbon dioxide emissions, unlike kiln-drying, which produces 1.65 tonnes of CO2 for every tonne of wood dried. Additionally, much of the kiln-dried wood available in the market is imported, further increasing its carbon footprint.

We strongly advocate for the use of sustainably and locally produced firewood that has been air-dried, as it leaves a minimal impact on the environment. By choosing such products, consumers can keep their homes warm while still being mindful of their carbon footprint.
